Mittens and Moccasin Making at Lyncrest Airport: Outdoor Enthusiasts and Pilots

Cross country skiiers, snowshoers, skijorers, pilots, ice fishers, snowmobilers...all out door enthusiasts learn how to make warm mittens using local materials and traditional designs. Wool sweaters/socks/scarves boiled and then tossed into a hot dryer until they shrink, recycled fur and leather coats and other recycled material used for inner and outer mittens.

Daphne is one of the women pilots flying C-FLUG, a Cessna 150, who made her own pair of mittens in preparation for some winter flying fun. More Photos 
This pair was made from recycled materials using dental floss for thread!
