Mittens and Moccasin Making at Lyncrest Airport: Outdoor Enthusiasts and Pilots
Cross country skiiers, snowshoers, skijorers, pilots, ice fishers, snowmobilers...all out door enthusiasts learn how to make warm mittens using local materials and traditional designs. Wool sweaters/socks/scarves boiled and then tossed into a hot dryer until they shrink, recycled fur and leather coats and other recycled material used for inner and outer mittens.

Mukluks, Mittens and Anorak making at Lyncrest Airport: Prep for Enjoying -40C
Pilots, snowshoers, back country skiers and folks keen to make their own slippers to wear around the house met to make mukluks, mittens and anoraks at Lyncrest Airport January 2014 while the weather howled at -40C. Recycled leather jackets donated by Maurice April, who lives nearby, recycled wool sweaters and blankets and other assorted materials were used. Photos of finished products will be posted as they get completed.
